Hey, Dr. Az (DNP-PMHNP) here!

I work closely with you to navigate your journey to better mental health. In my time with you I will listen carefully and together we will work on a treatment plan; often including therapy, medication, and lifestyle strategies. I specialize in ADHD, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, trauma, gender dysphoria, and gender-affirming surgery assessments.

I started this practice for you, all of you!

As a bi guy (with ADHD) I have experienced judgment and assumptions in healthcare services. These interactions put barriers to accessing the best care and I want a better experience for you.

I believe everyone deserves high-quality care which affirms and celebrates who you are. With me, you are safe to be your full self, even if you are still discovering what that means. All genders, sexualities, kinks, and relationship styles are welcome, and my care will take into consideration your whole self. The intersection of my life experiences and formal training has uniquely placed me to specialize.

Let’s work together to improve your mental health… without unnecessary shaming!

My partner and I are originally from Australia, and I completed my Doctor of Nursing Practice in Tucson at the University of Arizona. As a Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC), I am able to complete various mental health assessments, provide psychotherapy, and diagnose, treat and prescribe medications for all ages.

Dr. Casey Blonde (DNP, PMHNP-BC)

Relaxed and informed mental health prescribing to heal and thrive

As you progress in your care with me, you will find a relaxed, conversational approach with the goal of easing discomfort, anxiety, and fear. I am impassioned to provide quality care for vulnerable communities, with genuine compassion, empathy, and humor where appropriate. More specifically, I have specialized training and experience in delivering affirming care, and my network and mentors are specialists in and identify in the LGBTQ+ community. Mental health care should be a safe space for you, even if you are still figuring out who you are.

I’m Dr. Casey Blonde (he/him/his), you can call me Casey. As a graduate from Grand Canyon University and The University of Arizona, I returned to this beautiful desert after starting my career in New York City. Nursing for over 16 years with extensive involvement in psychiatry, emergency medicine, trauma medicine and critical care.

Right now, I live in sunny Gilbert, enjoying movies, cooking (grilling!) and sushi with my wife, 2 small children, and 2 cats. Reach out to me, or my team at Peacock Mental Health. Our whole clinic is devoted to serving people who identify as LGBTQ+ in some way, and who are (or suspect they are) neurodivergent in some way.

  • In the heart of our bustling cities and peaceful towns, from Phoenix to Tucson, Flagstaff, and beyond, there is a growing need for compassionate, qualified individuals to provide mental health care. As a mental health provider, I am dedicated to addressing this need and helping individuals navigate their mental health journeys with expertise, understanding, and kindness.

  • Psychiatric providers, also known as psychiatric prescribers, play a vital role in mental health care. We are the individuals who are trained to diagnose, treat, and manage mental health disorders. This often involves psychiatric medication management, a critical aspect of care for many individuals living with mental health conditions.

As a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP), or "Psych NP" for short, I have had the privilege of working with many individuals on their mental health journeys.

  • A Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner is a specific type of mental health provider. We are registered nurses with advanced training in psychiatric care, allowing us to diagnose and treat mental health conditions. This includes prescribing and managing medication, a practice known as psychiatric medication management.

  • Psychiatric medication management is a cornerstone of what we do as Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners. It involves not only prescribing medication but also carefully monitoring its effectiveness and adjusting dosages as necessary. This is a delicate process that requires a deep understanding of psychiatric medication and the unique needs of each individual.

  • When it comes to choosing a mental health provider in Arizona, whether in Tucson, Phoenix, Flagstaff, or any other city, it's essential to find someone who you feel comfortable with and who has the expertise to provide the care you need.

Here, the role of a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, or a 'Psych NP,' often comes to the forefront. We are psychiatric prescribers with a unique blend of medical expertise and an empathetic, patient-focused approach to care.

  • A Psych NP brings together the best of both worlds. We have the comprehensive medical training of psychiatrists, allowing us to diagnose mental health conditions and manage psychiatric medication. But we also have the patient-focused approach of mental health nurse practitioners, prioritizing holistic care and always seeking to understand the whole person, not just their symptoms.

In my work as a Psych NP in Arizona, I've seen firsthand the difference this approach can make. It's about more than just prescribing medication; it's about providing compassionate, holistic care that supports individuals on every step of their mental health journey.

  • Navigating mental health can be a challenging journey, but you don't have to do it alone. As a Psych NP and mental health provider in Arizona, I am here to help. I am dedicated to providing empathetic, expert care to my patients, always prioritizing their unique needs and well-being.

Whether you are in Tucson, Phoenix, Flagstaff, or elsewhere in our beautiful state, don't hesitate to reach out. Connect with a trusted mental health provider today, and take the first step on your path to better mental health.
